Momo Eating Contest Rules
MOMO EATING CONTEST PARTICIPATION WAIVER, RELEASE OF LIABILITY & MEDIA CONSENT
I, the undersigned participant ("Participant"), voluntarily agree to participate in the Momo Eating Contest ("Contest") organized by Sherpa Foods – Himalayan D'Lite and Himalayan D'Lite by Sherpa Foods ("Organizers").
Eligibility
I certify that:
- I am at least eighteen (18) years of age.
- I possess valid government-issued photo identification and will present it upon request.
- I agree to comply with all Contest rules, instructions, and decisions of the judges, whose decisions shall be final.
Assumption of Risk
I understand and acknowledge that participation in an eating contest involves inherent risks, including but not limited to choking, allergic reactions, gastrointestinal distress, illness, injury, or other serious medical complications that may result from consuming large quantities of food within a limited period of time.
I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation in the Contest and any related activities.
Health Certification
I certify that I am in good physical condition and capable of participating in this Contest. I acknowledge that it is my responsibility to consult with a qualified medical professional before participating if I have any health concerns. I affirm that I am voluntarily participating and accept full responsibility for my health and well-being during and after the Contest.
Media Release
I grant the Organizers, their sponsors, affiliates, successors, licensees, and assigns the irrevocable, worldwide, perpetual, royalty-free right to photograph, film, record, broadcast, publish, reproduce, edit, and otherwise use my name, image, likeness, voice, statements, and performance before, during, and after the Contest in any media now known or later developed for promotional, advertising, marketing, editorial, or other lawful purposes, without further notice or compensation.
I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished materials and release the Organizers from any claims arising from such use.
Release and Waiver of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, I, on behalf of myself and my heirs, executors, administrators, successors, assigns, and anyone claiming through me, hereby release, waive, discharge, and hold harmless the Organizers, their owners, employees, volunteers, sponsors, affiliates, agents, contractors, representatives, successors, and assigns from any and all claims, demands, causes of action, liabilities, damages, losses, expenses, costs, attorney's fees, or injuries of any kind, whether known or unknown, arising out of or related to:
- My participation in the Contest;
- My travel to or from the Contest;
- My presence at the event venue;
- Consumption of food during the Contest;
- Media interviews or recordings;
- Any injury, illness, disability, property damage, or death occurring before, during, or after the Contest, except where prohibited by applicable law.
Acknowledgment
I understand that participation in the Contest is entirely voluntary and that I have no automatic right to participate. I acknowledge that my participation is conditioned upon my acceptance of this Waiver and Release.
I certify that I have carefully read this document, fully understand its contents, and sign it voluntarily. I acknowledge that I have had the opportunity to ask questions and, if I choose, consult with legal counsel before signing. I understand that I may request a signed copy of this Waiver for my records.

Sherpa Foods – Himalayan D'Lite Momo Eating Contest
Benefiting the South Burlington Food Shelf
Join us for the 2026 Sherpa Foods – Himalayan D'Lite Momo Eating Contest, to benefit the South Burlington Food Shelf.
Entry Fee
$40
(Bonus Drawing for Free Contest Entry) — Post a photo of any opened Sherpa Foods product container on Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok, tag Sherpa Foods, and receive one entry into a drawing for a chance to win free entry to a Sherpa Foods – Himalayan D'Lite Momo Eating Contest.
Entries must be posted before the contest entry deadline. The Organizers reserve the right to verify the eligibility of all entries.
The winner will be selected by the Organizers at their sole discretion, and all decisions regarding eligibility, the drawing, and winner selection are final.

- 1st Place: $50

Contest Categories
There will be two separate contests:
- Meat Momo Eating Contest
- Vegan Momo Eating Contest —- (If there are not enough participants registered for the Vegan Momo Contest, the Organizers reserve the right to combine the Meat Momo and Vegan Momo contests into a single competition.)
Official Contest Rules
- Each contestant will have 7 minutes to consume as many momos as possible.
- Contestants may choose from Beef, Chicken, Pork, or Vegan Momos. Optional dipping sauce will be provided, with a choice of Mild, Hot, Sesame, or Maple flavors.
- Water will be provided by the event organizers. Contestants may also bring their own non-alcoholic beverages.
- Contestants may dunk momos in water for no more than five (5) seconds.
- Momos may be broken into smaller pieces before eating. However, for a momo to count, the entire momo must be consumed. Eating only part of a momo will not count toward the contestant's total until the remaining portion has also been eaten.
- No utensils may be used during the contest.
- Contestants must keep their eating area reasonably clean throughout the competition. Excessive food debris remaining on the table or floor may result in deductions from the contestant's final total at the judges' discretion.
- Any contestant who vomits or experiences a "reversal" at any time during the contest or immediately afterward will be disqualified.
- The contestant who consumes the greatest number of complete momos within the 7-minute time limit will be declared the winner.
- When the official time expires, any food already in a contestant's mouth may count provided it is completely swallowed within ten (10) seconds after time is called. Any remaining food not swallowed within the allotted time will not count and may result in deductions from the contestant's final total.
- In the event of a tie, the tied contestants will participate in a 5-Momo Eat-Off. The contestant who consumes all five momos in the fastest time will be declared the winner.
- Judges' decisions regarding scoring, rule interpretations, and contest results are final.
